Carl F. Grygiel was born outside of Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, a proud graduate of Ridgewood High School.  Carl graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History after working in both the Admissions and Alumni Affairs offices.

Although initially interested in teaching, an academic advisor recommended a summer internship that led to a 30- year career in Sales, Marketing, and Program Management.  Carl spent time with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, General Electric, GTE/Verizon, and PwC.  During his corporate journey, Grygiel completed his Master of Business Administration focusing on Leadership at Franklin Pierce College.  He was recognized with numerous Sales and Marketing excellence awards while at GE and Verizon.

Carl and his wife Karen raised three girls in Andover, Massachusetts and thoroughly enjoyed being soccer and lacrosse parents for over 20 years.  They fell in love with both the beauty and the pace of the Lowcountry after extended visits with friends that had moved to Bluffton. They built a new home in 2020 and relocated full-time in 2022 to Bluffton.

Carl is an avid fisherman and a spirited pickleball player in both the Beaufort Pickleball Club and Lowcountry Pickleball league.  He serves on the Sustainability Committee at the Oldfield Club and is a member of Lowcountry Chorale Singers in Beaufort.
